Materials science
Machine learning for discovering batteries, semiconductors, catalysts and other new materials.
Materials discovery is a natural fit for AI because the search space is enormous and experiments are slow. AI Frontier tracks research on predicting properties, proposing candidate materials and guiding experiments.
How to read these signals
A list of predicted materials is a starting point, not a finished discovery. The key questions are how many candidates were actually synthesised, how many matched the prediction, and whether the material can be made at useful scale.
Every entry in the live feed is labelled by source type: Lab report (reported by the research team), Preprint (not necessarily peer reviewed) or Research news (institutional coverage). The label describes where it came from, not whether it is correct.
