Mathematics
New proofs, algorithms and computer-assisted discovery in pure and applied mathematics.
Mathematics is where claims of AI progress are easiest to check: a proof either holds up under scrutiny or it does not. AI Frontier tracks research on automated theorem proving, formal verification, and machine-assisted search for new constructions and algorithms.
How to read these signals
When you read a headline here, look for what was actually shown. A system that finds a better algorithm for a specific problem is a real result, but it is narrower than "AI solves mathematics". Check whether the result was verified formally or independently, and whether the problem was open or already known.
Every entry in the live feed is labelled by source type: Lab report (reported by the research team), Preprint (not necessarily peer reviewed) or Research news (institutional coverage). The label describes where it came from, not whether it is correct.
